Grandparents are our heritage and are essential members of our families and communities. That is why a special day, National Grandparent’s Day, is set aside every year to honor them, say coordinators of an upcoming contest.

Grandparents are our heritage and are essential members of our families and communities. That is why a special day, National Grandparent’s Day, is set aside every year to honor them, say coordinators of an upcoming contest.

This year, the Keaau Village Market is sponsoring a Grandparents Day Makeover Contest.

“Just write a letter of 100 words or less stating why your grandparent(s) deserves to win a makeover and a luncheon day at the Keaau Village Market at noon on Sept. 8,” said spokeswoman Nicole Stallard.

Entries must be turned in by Aug. 31 at Styleyez Boutique. For more information, call Stallard at 854-6280.

“Just tell us why your grandma and/or grandpa deserves to be treated like royalty for the day,” she said.
